Pretend That Airplanes Are Like Shooting Stars

" I could use a dream
Or a genie or a wish
To go back to a place
Much simpler than this
'Cause after all the partyin'
And smashin' and crashin'
And all the glitz
And glam and the fashion
And all the pandemonium
And all the madness
There comes a time
Where you fade
To the blackness
And when you're staring
At that phone in your lap
And you hopin'
But them people
Never call you back
But that's just
How the story unfolds
You get another hand
And soon after you fold
And when your plans unravel
And they sayin'
What would you wish for
If you had one chance
So airplane, airplane
Sorry I'm late
I'm on my way
So don't close that gate
If I don't make that
Then I'll switch my flight
And I'll be right back at it
By the end of the night "

Picknicks Make Me Go Crazy

Here are a few of the pictures of the picnic I had this Monday. As promised.

- The camera accidentally focused on the leaves. But who says blurred pictures can't be cool?

- Three of my friends running towards me. It looks a bit photo-shopped, but it really isn't.

- Spying on you.

- The girl on the background (she has a name that I am or am not going to mention here) apparently wasn't in the mood for jumping, but I was!

- A potato crisp and a friend wanting that crisp very badly.

- The mess we created (and afterward cleaned up).

- They're standing on my finger (I know this is an epic fail).

- A flying candy. Why? Because we like flying candies.

I love to picnic. And I'm sure I'm going to do it every once in a while this summer. Have I already convinced you?

Mat Som Äts På Picknick

My holidays finally have started. Today I had my last tests and this afternoon I had a picnic with my class. That was really awesome. We had loads of delicious food and of course we had a lot of fun. We organized this picnic to celebrate that our holidays have started and to be together as a class for (probably) the last time. Next year we will be mixed with other classes.

We went into the woods and made pictures, but I don't have those at the moment. As soon as I have them I'll post them. I promise.

Some substitute pictures found on the internet.

No Place In The World That Can Compare

" Grew up in a town
That is famous as
A place of movie scenes
Noise is always loud
There are sirenes all around
And the streets are mean
If I can make it here
I can make it anywhere
That's what they say
Seeing my face in lights
Or my name on marquees
Found down on Broadway

(...)

On the avenue
There ain't never a curfew
Ladies work so hard
Such a mountain pot
On the corner selling rock
Preachers pray to God
And a gypsy cab
Takes me down from Harlem
To the Brooklyn Bridge
Someone sleeps tonight
With the hunger for more
Than an empty fridge "

Mugs Make Moments More Majestic

Mugs are underappreciated. And I think that we should appreciate it more. Respect for the mugs! Glasses are too fragile, plastic beakers are not classy and cups are too posh. The mug can be stylish, funny and nonchalant.

Mugs can be used for cold as well for hot drinks. You can put soup in it, hot coco, coffee and lots more!

Long live the mugs!

Why exactly am I trying to make people appreciate mugs more? Just because I like them and people should appreciate silly and small things in life. See the good/funny side of everything and you'll feel a lot happier. I know that that is easier said than done, but it works for me.

Time Keeps Things From Happening All At Once

Sometimes I wish I could slow down the time - to embrace the moment. Other times I wish I could skip certain moments - they are a waste of my time. Unfortunately, my life is no film of which I can skip chapters or experience moments over and over again. I can't reverse it to create some funny scenes, or to play it in slow motion. Bummer.

On the other hand, when I am old and sitting in my chair next to a Geranium, I want to look back on my life and be able to think; " Yes, my life was good the way  it was. Even those sad or boring moments were fine the way they were. Without them I would never have had the time to regain energy for all those other moments. I might not have lived life to the fullest, and I might have made some stupid mistakes, but so be it. I lived my life that way, and I think I did just fine. "

In that case am I not thinking about the fact that there are loads of other people who are perfectly capable of ruining my life, and that I might not become old, for some reason. It's just the thought that everything will be all right that counts.

Do The Brussels Hussle!

Tomorrow I am going on a school trip (again). This time we're going to Brussels. I have been there before about six years ago when I had won a competition. Back then it was a kinda horrible trip, but I won't bother you with that crazy/crappy story right now. I'm sure my trip to Brussles this time will be awesome. Not because I like visiting the European Parliament, but because my class is an amazing class, and together we will make it a great trip. I am sure of it.

Here are some funny pictures I found on the internet. It was a site of someone (I think it was a he, and that he was German, but I might be wrong) who makes Post-it notes. Some of them are quite funny, at least I think. Decide for yourself what you think of them, of course.

Flowers Grow In The Sky

" No, I'm not high on drugs. This post title can be explained in a different way: It is just a wonderful day today. Really perfect. Today my lessons at school started at 11 o'clock, so I didn't need to get up early. The sun was shining and the temperature high enough to wear no coat. It was rather pleasant to cycle to school (with a flower in my hair). I felt happy (and I still do) and I even noticed that I actually liked going to school. That was freaky, even to me. "

This was something I wrote Friday. I have no idea why I haven't posted it directly, but I figured "ah what do I care, I just post it now". So that is exactly what I am doing at this very moment. Today the weather was nice as well, except for the fact it wasn't sunny.

And now that I am busy telling you what happened in my ordinary life, I'll also tell you about my Saturday. I was invited to go to a film. It was in the CineMec, located in Ede (NL) - which is btw the best and the largest cinema of the NL. The entrance was free and we got a free drink. The weather was also very nice, so the cycle to the cinema was very nice. The film is Dutch and it is called: " Lang & Gelukkig " ('Happily ever after') . It'll be in the cinema's in December this year. After the film we needed to fill out a form to say what we thought of the film. That was really fun to do.

I hope you had a good weekend a well! Bye.

My Jack Is Somewhere Chasing Jill

" You say you like candy
Well stick with me
I've got some sugar up my sleeve
You like money
Place your bets on me
These odds are going crazy

Don't be afraid of the big bad wolf
He's just a sheep underneath those teeth
And don't be afraid of the wicked witch
She ain't so bad, she ain't no bitch

(...)

Ladies if you feel me holler
Fellas show us all the dollar
Little riding hood is such a flirt
She got miss Muffet all up in her skirt
And Hansel and Gretel never made it home
They go some cooking to do of their own

(...)

Oh Rapunzel
Let down your golden hair
Giddy up on your big white horse
Even if your prince ain't there
Oh I'd like forever after
Like every princess should
But there's always another chapter
And the apple sure tastes good
- Laura Jansen, Wicked World
