Shel is a genius

A few months ago I needed to have a poem for school. So I started searching for poems on the internet, in this way I found a site about this fantastic poet Shel Silverstein. Visit the site by clicking on this link.

" "A genuine anteater,"
The pet man told my dad
Turned out, it was an aunteater,
And now my uncle's mad! "
- Shel Silverstein, The Anteater

The following poem is the actual one I used for school. I did have to translate it first, because the poem needed to be in Dutch. If someone really really wants to read my translation, just ask. And before you start reading this poem, it might come in handy to know that Runny Babbit (a rabbit) is the main character of this poem, and every that now and then some words are a lil' scrambled up. And this poem might not be complete, but this was the only part I could find on the site.

" On a mosty frornin'  Runny woke
And heeked outside his pole,
And he saw all the wugs and borms
A-ceezin' in the frold.

The flagondries, the hassgroppers,
And patercillars, too,
Were shiverin' and quiverin'
As freezin' creatures do.

So runny sook them all intide,
Where it was carm and wozy.
He rubbed each tiny tozen froe
He warmed each ice-nold cosie.

He fed them nice hot sarrot coup,
And after they were fed,
He blapped them up in wrankets
And but them all to ped. "
- Shel Silverstein, Runny's hind keart

If you like these poems, or if you're bored, please visit Shel's site! On his site you can find parts of his poems in moving images! You should really see them. They make the poems even better. But, of course, everyone has its own opinion, so just check it out to find out what you think of it (and let me know by posting a comment on this message).
